Comparison Between 2 Top Petzl Headlamps
Both of these headlamps are built to last and have perfectly colored white light and the shape of the beams is perfect for most uses. These are two very different headlamps as you can see by the chart below.
One of them (the ULTRA RUSH) is our favorite headlamp ever (but now discontinued!). The other, is our second favorite headlamp ever – The NAO+! Take a close look at the differences because there are some. These are quite different headlamps.
The Ultra Rush is still our favorite for looking for wildlife in the forests at night. The long battery life, fast charging, and perfect power options for the light makes it our go-to light for the forest and fast activities like skiing or cycling. Our units have lasted for 6 years and are still going strong.
UPDATE 6/2022 – The Ultra Rush has been discontinued. The DUO S and DUO RL are the very capable replacements.
The NAO+ PLUS headlamp is much lighter, better for running, and has Reactive Lighting Technology that extends battery life substantially. Replacement batteries are around $60, vs the ULTRA RUSH’s $100+ per battery.
